The EZPZ Podcast EP044: Ten-Butt Tapestry

What’s up, everybody! We’ve decided to combine episode 044 and our festival recap, so we’ve got a beefy 90-minute podcast to dump right into your lemon head. We kick off with a hefty recap of Summer Set Music Festival. Nick and I attended the festival with a total of 11 people in our crew. We get into our favorite sets, some mishaps, funny jokes that arose from some weird light shows, and more!

Brandon fills us in on all the fun he had in New York City. It wasn’t his first rodeo to the Big Apple, so he gives us the nitty-gritty on how to be frugal in New York.

Then, I recap the Every Time I Die show that was sort of like my 26th birthday party. Although I’ve said it a hundred times, it must be said again: Every Time I Die is the greatest rock ’n’ roll band on this planet today. This is especially true after I saw them for the 14th time at Vaudeville Mews. The show was especially neat due to having some friends in attendance I hadn’t seen in a while, including Chad Aldrich and Ben Mathews. I stepped out of moshtirement for the evening, too.

The EZPZ Podcast EP043: The Summer is Setting

The EZPZ boys are back! And I mean all three of us this time! We dive right into a recap of Slightly Stoopid at Brenton Skate Plaza. The intention was to see them at Simon Estes, as I have yet to see a show there and the 420 Treat ticket prices were too low to pass up at just $24.20! To many people’s dismay, they had the show at Brenton, but it ended up being a great time either way. We then dive into Brandon’s adventure to Colorado to see RL Grime and friends at Red Rocks Amphitheater. In true Brandon-style, he drove home and went straight to night one of Hinterland Music Festival in St. Charles, Iowa. He shares his favorite aspects of the music festival including seeing Willie Nelson close out night two. We then touch base on Kosmos’ solid lineup (good work, Dan Green and company!)

Nick and I are going to Summer Set Music Festival in Somerset, Wisconsin for the second year in a row! This year’s lineup is insane and the four-hour drive is too easy to pass up for a round two. We preview our must-see acts along with all of the clashes the festival is known for — looking at you Marshmello and Mr. Carmack (I’m team Carmack, duh).

Thanks for listening! By the time this podcast is flowing through your lemon cavity, Nick and I will be at Summer Set! Our plan is to record two special episodes of the podcast! Yippee!

PS: We do our best to retread some of the podcast! My computer stopped recording about halfway through and we had to re-record it! Oops! :P

The EZPZ Podcast EP042: Summer Fun

Hey there! Let me start by saying we’re sorry. Deeply sorry. I know you’ve missed us, but it’s been one hell of a busy summer. This was the longest break we have taken from recording since Brandon Paulsen was signed on as our third full-time host. And it doesn’t even count as a comeback because Nick is absent. It’d be like The Beatles calling a Ringo-less comeback a comeback. Not that Nick is Ringo Starr or anything… well, he might be. I’m only kidding. Needless to say, Brandon and I have quite a lot to get to at this point in the summer. We chat about 80/35 Music Festival, Des Moines Skatepark Fundraiser, 515 Alive, and Lollapalooza.

You can send us your letters to TheEZPZpodcast@gmail.com. Send us anything, we wanna converse with all of our lemonheads.

The EZPZ Podcast EP041: Urban Trouting

Hey, hey, hey, lemon heads. We are freshly squeezed from Electric Forest. It was my favorite Forest yet with countless stories of pure bliss. Check out our recap episode on the music festival here. Let’s dive right into what we discussed this episode.

Fetty Wap dropped off of not only Electric Forest, but also Summerset Music Festival. Looks like we will never see him live. We chat about it and how he also dropped off of several music festivals last year. We discuss the rumor that Apple might be buying TIDAL and the new patent they filed this week regarding shooting video at concerts. While Nick and I were away at Sherwood Forest, Brandon saw his most favorite show at Nitefall on the River yet and drove to Denver. He shared a funny story about a friend from Denver’s hobby he got to witness firsthand.

With the 4th of July behind us, we have officially hit the mid-point of the summer. We dive into the rest of the summer’s events, including 80/35, DSM Skatepark Fundraiser, 515 Alive, Lollapalooza, Red Rocks, Summerset Music Festival, Every Time I Die at Vaudeville Mews, Kosmos, and Slightly Stoopid at Nitefall on the River.

We end the episode discussing new albums announced by Touche Amore, Phantogram, and Every Time I Die! And cap off the show by discussing Kosmos Music Festival, which is a new music festival at the end of August featuring camping.
